1:1 Pre-Test Begin in Q1/2026 |
| |
|
The 1:1 pre-tests are set to begin in the coming weeks, with the first tests confirmed to be with the four vehicle manufacturers Volkswagen Group, Renault Group, TRATON (MAN), and Volvo Cars, alongside six different AC- and DC-EVSE partners: dcbel, EVTEC, InfyPower, Watt&Well, EN+, and Indra. These pre-tests will pave the way for the 3:3:5 multiparty tests, which are planned to begin after the third Task 53 workshop (September 7-10, 2026, at Dekra in Arnhem, the Netherlands, open to Task 53 partners only). |

Onboarding Final Partners |
| |
|
We are nearing the final stage of onboarding industry partners for both AC and DC testing, with a possibility for wireless testing as well. If you are an EV-OEM, EVSE-OEM, Aggregator, or DSO, and interested in joining this collaborative harmonization effort, we urge you to make your decision quickly. We plan to close onboarding by Summer 2026. The results of the collaborative work will be shared to the public after Task 53 concludes its activities and publishes the Golden Guidelines (planned by the end of 2027 for DC-V2G, and the year after for AC-V2G).
Note: Joining now allows the companies to have maximum influence on the direction and priorities of Task 53. And there is no advantage to postponing joining Task 53 since the total membership fees - due to fairness to early partners - will be the same for all Task 53 partners regardless of time of joining. |

|
Five task forces have officially started their work, bringing together over thirty Task 53 industry representatives from several of the 18 EV-TCP countries that support Task 53. The task forces are focused on defining Task 53’s common approach to key topics, ISO 15118-20 (including TLS), grid codes, communication with backends, multiparty test preparation and procedures, and EU cybersecurity. These five task forces are under the lead of industry representatives of dcbel, Renault Group, Virta, Dekra, and JRC and moderated by Task 53 specialists Björn Christensen, Patrick Eugster, and Tillmann Laux. |
